This website is run by Simon Smith Photography Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 03658283). Our registered office and studio are at 6 Sun Studios, 30 Warple Way, London W3 0RX.

We are the “controller” of the personal information collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at simon@simonsmithphotography.com or call 020 8749 5888.

When you contact us. Our website has no forms. If you email or phone us, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you tell us about your photography project.

Website visits. When you visit, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you agree. See Cookies and analytics below.

We only use your information for the reason you gave it to us:

• to reply to your enquiry and quote for or carry out your shoot (our legitimate interest in answering you, or to fulfil our contract with you)
• to keep accounting and tax records for clients (our legal obligation)
• to understand how our website is used, so we can improve it (only with your consent)

We do not sell your information, and we do not send you marketing unless you ask us to.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. Nothing optional is set until you choose. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.

• Essential cookies remember your cookie choice and keep the site working. These are always on.
• Statistics (Google Analytics) tells us which pages are visited and how people find us. It is only switched on if you accept. Google may process this information outside the UK, under safeguards approved by UK law.

Our Contact page shows a map from OpenStreetMap. It only loads if you allow it, and when it does your browser connects to OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address.

We only share your information with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need:

• our website and email hosting providers
• Google, for Analytics (if you accept)
• our bank and accountant, for payments and our accounts

We may also share information if the law requires it.

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. If you become a client, we keep your records for as long as the law requires, usually six years.

Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to our email and website is protected by passwords and limited to the people who need it.

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example through Cookie Settings

To use any of these rights, email simon@simonsmithphotography.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
